New hire – Katie, Marketing Executive

Hey I\’m Katie, and it\’s just a few weeks before I join the team at Voodoochilli Web Design – a great way to begin the New Year (and new decade for that matter)! I\’ve lived in Herefordshire my whole life, in a village just outside of Hereford, Wellington.

To this end I have been working as a Marketing Assistant, at an exclusive hire wedding and events venue. I deal with all things social media, blogs, client journeys, campaigns and sometimes getting involved with weddings and events. My interest in Marketing initially sparked from beginning a small business, promoting and selling my homemade cakes. I was amazed by the power of social media and online advertising and it got me thinking. I had been working in the same industry for a number of years and a vast change seemed not only daunting, but I just didn\’t know where to begin. It was then I did my research, I came across internships- the perfect way to get a taste for a completely new job, without committing to a drastic change. I contacted a Marketing and Design company, and had an incredible month with them before finding a permanent job. Since then, I have not looked back!

So what will I be doing at Voodoochilli?
I\’m joining Voodoochilli as a Marketing Executive. I think I would definitely class myself as a \’people person\’ and I cannot wait to meet with and work together with you. I very much look forward to getting a feel for what your company is about and what makes it \’tick\’, and putting that into summary to find a way to further grow your business through inbound and outbound campaigns, writing new and exciting content and working alongside Thomas to boost SEO on your site.

The less informal things about me…
I love coffee (it\’s going to be a real test being based near so many amazing coffee shops), chocolate and I have an unhealthy obsession with dogs (Cockapoo\’s have to be my favourite). I\’ve been told by my colleagues that I like to sing quite a lot too, so a pair of earplugs for the team may have to be my first purchase!
