Design guidelines provide you with researched and proven design choices you can use or reference. Although they are guidelines, you don’t always have to follow them perfectly, but they are here to help you understand more about the fundamentals present in designs. By understanding how the guidelines influenced and guided the creation of a robust, clean and consistent design, you will too be able to use them as the fundamental building blocks of your designs.

Structure of the Website

A design system or predetermined spacing system is necessary to create a consistent and clean website. This all starts with a magic number of 4px. With 4px, we are able to create spacings of 4px, 8px, 16px, 32px, 64px, 128px. These are the spacings our team uses. You might think that these aren’t a lot of choices, and might be hard to use, but sometimes having too many choices are a detriment to consistency and creates complications in both design and development.
