Cobbler’s Children
There is a saying used quite a lot in business, and web design and digital marketing in particular: “the cobbler’s children have no shoes”. Essentially it means that the people working in a business tend to put their customers first, often neglecting themselves as a result.
One of our developers is from Argentina and he has a Spanish saying: “en casa de herrero, cuchillo de palo” which means “in the house of the blacksmith, wooden knives”. I really like that, it’s rather eloquent and almost poetic in a shortened haiku kind of way.
In either case, the last year or so has been a time where this analogy holds true for us. The first month of the pandemic was very odd, and everyone was a bit worried about what would happen. We soon became very busy, supporting our existing clients as well as working with new businesses that suddenly realised they needed to go online.
This has meant we have neglected our own online presence somewhat. Marketing ourselves as a business has all but stopped during this time and 6 months since our last blog post is simply not acceptable, and as of now, that is going to change. We have countless portfolio examples we want to add and a lot of other exciting things we want to share. Watch this space!
