How Digital Can Help Businesses
Help your customers find your business if you are not able to meet them face to face
It is impossible not to acknowledge the current situation and the uncertainty that we are posed with due to COVID-19. However, we wanted to shed some light on how we, as a digital agency may be able to provide some positivity and growth for your business, through the power of the internet. Harry, has shared some of his thoughts:
“We are going to use this time to work on marketing for our clients and for ourselves. We will be using the internet to reach out to people – that means SEO, outbound marketing campaigns, social media and articles like this. Now more than ever, it’s imperative that people are able to discover your business online, if they are not able to access you directly.
As a digital agency, I know we are lucky and uniquely positioned to be there for our clients in times like these. If you need our help, let us know. Now is a time where we should be reaching out to connect with and help others more than ever and we have the ability to do just that.”

Postponing plans
Harry was all set and looking forward to running a Heritage dinner event in London on Tuesday, but of course, he had to bring all plans to a halt. “As I write this article, I should be driving down to London to host an event we have been planning all year. As I finished work yesterday evening and started my journey home, a friend got in touch telling me to check out the radio. I pulled over and quickly turned it on to hear that the Prime Minister had advised that all non-essential travel and social meetings be cancelled.
I turned the car around and had an emergency meeting with a senior member of my team and together we worked out a plan of action based on this announcement. After the emotions had calmed down, it became apparent that actually, we are in the very lucky position of all being able to work from home by utilising digital technology. We picked up our VOIP phone systems, allowing us to make and receive calls from the company number, and informed the rest of the team.”
Of course, what is important right now is that we take care of the health and well-being of our staff, clients and the wider community, above anything else. As a company, we already take great pride in taking care of our staff and clients, and we will continue to do so during this crucial period. We are looking towards other alternatives for group discussion such as webinars.
Working efficiently from home
Harry talks about how we are keeping positive and working productively from home, and how you can too:
“We have communications software such as Slack, Discord, and of course email. We can transfer calls to the appropriate member of the team, and my hope is that, although apart, the internet will act as a social glue, allowing us to form our familiar, lean and efficient team.
Whilst the precautions we need to protect ourselves from the virus are very much needed, business must carry on. People still expect wages, landlords need their rent and suppliers will have invoices that need settling. No doubt many small businesses in particular will be forced to close down for good as the virus begins to devastate the economy.
Given this, many may be inclined to reduce their spend on digital marketing. At first, this makes sense but the more time I’ve had to think about it, the more I disagree with this as a strategy. I’ve been running this business for around 20 years. We have been through it all, and one thing I’ve learnt is you have to be brave and bold, especially when things get tough. What do you do in times of adversity, when you are threatened? Do you retreat and hide? Some may, but my philosophy as a business owner, is the best defense is a good offense.
